SIMtone's ASPEED for Windows HPCS enables Windows applications to quickly use window HPC Server 2008 and multi-socket and multicore servers
At the High Performance on Wall Street Conference, SIMtone Corporation, a privately held company delivering the next cloud computing paradigm and high performance parallel computing software, today announced the release of SIMtone ASPEED for Windows HPCS 1.6. The new release enables Windows-based single- and multi-threaded applications to immediately and seamlessly exploit the parallel performance and capacity enabled by Microsoft's Windows HPC Server 2008.
Windows HPC Server 2008 (HPCS) combines the power of the Windows Server platform with rich, out-of-the-box functionality to help improve productivity and reduce the inherent complexity of an HPC environment. Windows HPC Server 2008 can efficiently scale to thousands of processing cores and provides a comprehensive set of deployment, administration, and monitoring tools that are easy to deploy, manage, and integrate with existing infrastructures. SIMtone's ASPEED enables applications to quickly and efficiently utilize the capacity enabled by the Windows HPCS environment to run more applications in significantly less time.
SIMtone's ASPEED for Windows HPCS 1.6 is unique in that it can accelerate each C, C++, Microsoft Office Excel 2003 and 2007, VBA and VB.net application by enabling them to seamlessly and more effectively use multiple cores and multiple servers in parallel. Using SIMtone's ASPEED, a given program can run its workload in parallel without having to rewrite the program or learn new or complex user interfaces. Using Windows HPCS and ASPEED accelerated applications, run times can easily run 100 times faster, provide quicker answers and increase the number of variables that can be considered in financial models while improving the overall effective utilization of the cluster.
"SIMtone's ASPEED for HPCS is the result of our close working relationship with Microsoft's high-performance computing and parallel programming team. The combination of SIMtone's ASPEED and Windows HPCS 2008 enables Windows applications to fully optimize new energy efficient and compact multicore capacity across one or more systems," says Kurt Ziegler, EVP of SIMtone High Performance Computing Division. "Our Financial Service clients now have the ability to reduce the elapsed time to assess pricing and risk by orders of magnitude. I invite HPC on Wall Street to witness first-hand the IBM and Microsoft pricing demonstration using SIMtone's ASPEED running on an IBM BladeCenter S configuration in the main ballroom."
