SIMtone Corporation Announces the First Virtual Personal Computer in the Cloud

At the Mobile World Congress, SIMtone Corporation, a privately held company delivering the next virtual computing paradigm, today announced the availability of its SIMtone CDU - Virtual PC service, the first in a series of SIMtone CDU consumer services that will change the way people access and manage all aspects of their digital lifestyle, anytime, anywhere.
Usable and accessible from any desktop or laptop computer, Web browser or low-cost, low power SIMtone SNAP terminal, such as the SIMtone "SNAPOne," the SIMtone CDU - Virtual PC is the first full-featured, Windows-based personal computer "in the cloud." It provides users with a full "laptop experience," on-the-fly and on-demand by logging in from any available device.
SIMtone CDU - Virtual PC delivers unparalleled user performance including full sound, native USB printing and automatic time zone clock and application time adjustment at each login, on any device. SIMtone CDU - Virtual PC delivers better usability and convenience compared to a laptop, and eliminates the need to carry a laptop, and continuously reconfigure and manage its connectivity, file backups, software updates, anti-virus, spam and security programs. The SIMtone CDU also synchronizes files, settings, and bookmarks between any virtual PC and desktop or laptop computer.

Starting at $15 dollars a month, the SIMtone CDU - Virtual PC comes fully configured with a choice of Microsoft Windows operating systems, and a standard set of applications that include Microsoft Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Open Office productivity suite, Instant Messengers and other pre-installed and pre-configured consumer applications.
Consumers can add memory, storage, and other applications such as Microsoft Office, for an additional price directly from the SIMtone CDU - Virtual PC service, or online from third-party software vendors. In addition to using an existing PC or any Web browser to access the SIMtone CDU - Virtual PC service, consumers can purchase low-cost, low power SIMtone SNAP terminals for the home or office. SNAP terminals are solid-state SIMtone firewall-friendly appliances that plug-and-play on any home and WiFi-based network or corporate LAN, without requiring any user intervention, configuration or maintenance. SNAP terminals provide instant access to any SIMtone service on-the-fly, and on-demand. They can be deployed in any number, anywhere in a home or office, providing multiple, convenient and very low-cost access points to SIMtone CDU - Virtual PC users as well as other SIMtone services.
